The First Barrier: Italian Notaries Do Not Recognize Trusts
While Italy formally acknowledges the concept of a trust under the Hague Convention, in practice, most notaries (the legal professionals who must validate every property transaction in Italy) have little to no experience handling U.S. trusts. This creates immediate issues:
