Ex Casalbergo in via Chiusi was built in an area owned by the City and was regulated by an agreement with the municipality to realize accommodations with social purposes in the Economic and Social building plan. In 2013 Europa Gestioni Immobiliare, on behalf of the Italian postal service (Poste Italiane), paid the surface right, becoming the owner of the land as well, without any more bond with the City council. From October 2020, the Italian postal service group intends to proceed with the alienation of the property.
The property is part of a complex that belongs to two different properties. The two arties are adjacent and in continuity for their architectural elements, but they’ve got separated access entrances. The building Ex Casalbergo, on the ground floor, has covered common areas that can be partially dedicated to bikes and scooters parking spaces and a relevant external site reserved to parking lots. At the same time, the spaces on the ground and first floor are designated as administrative functions.
The proposal of intervention includes the facade’s renovation and the roofing’s remake by inserting a continuous projecting roof on the whole perimeter. The intervention aims to the energy efficiency and the recovery of the common areas, keeping the architectural elements existing and preserving the continuity with the neighboring property.
